Are both group & private classes available?
Most of our members enjoy the group setting, but private sessions are available too depending on instructor availability.
How many other people will there be in my class?
You can most likely expect 15-30, give or take a few depending on the day / time. We always make sure there are enough instructors no matter the class size though.
Are there other beginners like me?
Yes! Our classes cater to people of all experience levels, and in every class there are people all over the spectrum.
Is this similar to “cardio kickboxing”?
No, our classes are extremely interactive, and involve real-life boxing equipment like punching bags & gloves. This is nothing like cardio kickboxing!

Kids Martial Arts

Kids Martial Arts

Does Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo make kids violent?
No way! Martial arts is about peace, harmony and diplomacy. It teaches children how to AVOID fights – not pick them.
Do kids get injured in Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo?
Sometimes. But the truth is, injuries are very, very rare here. We have a lot of measures in place to keep your child perfectly safe. In fact, safety is our #1 concern.
My child isn't athletic. Can he/she still participate in martial arts, karate, taekwondo?
Absolutely. Martial arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don’t naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.
Do children's confidence & self-esteem grow with Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo?

Absolutely. Kids with low self-esteem often come out of their shells. As their skill level increases, they feel more and more confident. Other kids look up to them, just as they look up to other kids who are ahead of them. It builds a sense of confidence, pride, and teamwork.

Is there a risk for injury with martial arts?
Any sport or form of exercise comes with a risk of injury. However, there are a few things that make our program very safe. It’s because of these few things that we barely see any injuries with our program.

Stretching: At the beginning of every class we go through a series of stretches. These stretches get your muscles and joints ready and warmed up for exercise.

Supervision: Every class is supervised by trained, licensed professionals. We watch carefully to make sure no student is doing anything in a dangerous or unsafe way.

In short, we place a tremendous amount of focus on fun and safety. It’s because of this that we feel confident telling you that while there is risk for injury with our program – it’s a very small risk.

Do you have to be in good shape to take martial arts?
Not at all! In fact, many people use martial arts as a way to get in good shape. They come to us out of shape, and quickly become athletic and limber.
Is there violence involved in martial arts?
People often mistake self-defense for violence. We teach self-defense here.

Self-defense means doing everything in your power to AVOID violence! It means being diplomatic and peaceful. In fact, people who have had problems with violence in the past often become peaceful and balanced through martial arts.
